LA COSTA RESORT AND SPA AND RANCHO LAS PALMAS RESORT & SPA ANNOUNCE A VALENTINE’S VERSION OF ITS POPULAR SLIDERS CUP
Playful Valentine’s Program Invites Couples to Slide “In Sync”
CARLSBAD, Calif. and PALM SPRINGS, Calif. – January 2010- Sister properties La Costa Resort and Spa in San Diego and Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa in Rancho Mirage invite couples to have a little fun on their Valentine’s Day getaway with a special romantic version of its Sliders Cup, a race series that has guests competing down its thrilling waterslides for prizes.
Every couple who books a getaway at La Costa or Rancho Las Palmas over Valentine’s weekend is invited to enter the resorts’ “Couples In Sync” Sliders Cup for a chance at winning a bottle of champagne and appetizers at La Costa’s Legends Bistro or Rancho’s bluEmber restaurant. Instead of competing to beat one another down the slide, couples must work together to time their slides so that they enter the water together. Each couple will have three chances at making it down the slide in perfect sync.
“Our motto is couples that play together stay together,” said April Shute, vice president and general manager of La Costa Resort and Spa. “There are so many ways to play at both La Costa and Rancho, from the world-class golf and tennis to the exceptional spa and fitness facilities. The Sliders Cup is just another way for couples to have fun and enjoy time together.”
“Couples In Sync” Sliders Cup will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday February 13 and Sunday, February 14 at La Costa’s Splash Landing pool and Rancho’s Splashtopia pool. Each pool area boasts 100 foot water slides, aqua zones and even sandy beaches. Just to make sure everyone’s a winner, the resorts will warm couples hearts during the event with complimentary gourmet hot chocolate.
La Costa is offering special Valentine’s weekend getaway rates with 20% off a two-night stay or 30% off a three-night stay, plus a $50 resort credit per stay good toward golf, spa, tennis or dining. Rates start at $210 per night (after the discount) plus a daily resort fee and tax. For more information or to make a reservation, visit www.lacosta.com or call 1-800-854-5000.
For Valentine’s weekend, Rancho La Palmas is offering a Romance Package that starts at $309 and includes a bottle of champagne on arrival. Rates exclude the daily resort fee and tax. For more information or to make reservations, visit www.rancholaspalmas.com or call 1-800-423-1195.
The Sliders Cup debuted at La Costa and Rancho Las Palmas last summer as a seasonal promotion where guests could race down the water slides for the fastest times. Daily, weekly and monthly prizes were awarded in age group categories from 7 and up. Over the winter holiday, La Costa continued the fun with the Penguin Plunge Sliders Cup that helped raise money for charity. For more information visit www.sliderscup.com.
